Zambezi Expeditions Camp
Zambezi Expeditions (ex Lifestyles) Camp is situated in the Mana Pools National Park, Northern Zimbabwe, below the Zambezi River. The Camp lies on the shores of the Lower Zambezi River and offers an excellent ways to experience the area. Access to Zambezi Lifestyles is either via charter flight to Mana Pools main airstrip, a scheduled road transfer from Harare, taking five hours, or on a self-drive basis, in a 4x4 vehicle, but for seasoned off-roaders only!
This 12-bedded luxury mobile camp is set up prior to your arrival near the Zambezi River, and provides you the opportunity to canoe and fish either from the banks or off an island in the middle of the river. With 6 twin-bedded tents and en-suite bathroom facilities that include flush toilets and an alfresco hot bucket shower, the camp is more than comfortable. Although a mobile camp, Zambezi Lifestyles is best described as a luxury experience, evident in the furnishings and facilities, including 12 volt lighting and charging facilities.
There is a well serviced mess tent, with a dining and seating area, where surprisingly elegant meals are served. The Zambezi Expeditions experience is enjoyed by people who seek adventure on the Zambezi River whilst absorbing the peace and tranquillity around them.
Activities at Zambezi Expeditions include canoeing, walking, game drives and fishing. Canoeing will take you close to an abundance of elephant, hippo, big herds of buffalo, as well as fantastic bird species. Walking safaris offer the chance of spotting the large mammals, like lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, wild dog, zebra, eland, sable, kudu antelope and giraffe.
No previous canoeing experience is necessary, but one should be fit as you will be paddling in a steady current, although no rapids will be paddled.
Fishing is possible during the excursions on the river, either from the banks or off an island in the middle of the Zambezi River. Game drives along the flood plain in open 4 x 4 land cruisers are bound to offer excellent game sightings.
