Camp Hwange

Camp Hwange

Camp Hwange is a Classic Safari Camp set in private concession in the Sinamatella region, in the northern section of Hwange National Park.

Camp Hwange accommodates 16 guests, in large thatched Chalets with canvas and gauze sides. All of the chalets are en suite, and are lit by solar power. Each chalet also overlooks a large waterhole.

The main lodge are comprises a large lounge and a beautiful restaurant, where you get to enjoy some wonderful food. The Camp’s wholesome cuisine includes a good selection of meats, vegetables and fruits (vegetarians and most food allergies are also catered for).

A focal point is the camp fire, where you can gather around watching the sunrise, sipping cups of tea or coffee, as you listen to the multitude of bird calls. In the evening, sit around the fire and share with others the sightings, experiences that you have enjoyed during the day.

Activities at Camp Hwange revolve around game drives and walks, both in the private concession, and the main National Park. Walks are particularly exciting and the guides pride themselves on their knowledge of the big and small aspects of nature that make up the environment. Night drives in the concession are also available. In addition, there are a number of water holes in the area that attached a lot of animals and birdlife, to drink.

The Camp also has a unique log pile hide in the shade near the waterhole which – here you get a close up view of all the wildlife. There are no time restrictions to the activities, the walks/drives are  governed by what you see and not meal times. Hampers of delicious foodstuffs and refreshments  accompany every adventure into the bush, be it on foot or vehicle.
