The Wallow Lodge

The Wallow Lodge is situated in a private game reserve, and is set in the heart of the Victoria Falls National Park.

This tented camp is set along the banks of the Masuwe River, and is surrounded by 4,500 acres of wilderness stretching to the horizon, where the seasonal loud of mist from the ‘Mosi-Au-Tunya’ commands the skyline.

16 tented suites have been carefully placed to capture the best views of the Masuwe River and surrounding wilderness. The imaginative use of canvas evokes a classic safari atmosphere, but with all the modern creature comforts. Each suite is raised beneath the shade of ancient riverine trees, and from this elevated vantage point, guests can enjoy uninterrupted views of the River from their private balcony. The décor and attention to detail strikes a perfect balance between contemporary, yet homely touches. Each suite has an en suite bedroom, private sitting room and viewing deck with and outdoor shower overlooking the untouched wilderness, creating the perfect sanctuary for guests during their stay.

Panoramic views of the Masuwe River form the backdrop of the main area, incorporating the unrushed rhythm of nature into the expansive open-space interiors. The furniture is earthy and sophisticated, brought to life with splashes of colour.

You can also enjoy relaxing on the pool deck, with excellent views into the bush.

The Wallow Lodge is more than a luxury safari wilderness experience. Sustainable technology such as solar power, environmentally friendly decking, and non-disposable products ensure that every journey leaves a light footprint on the land.

No two days are the same at The Wallow Lodge, as there are number of excursions for guests
Victoria Falls is a short twenty-minute transfer from the lodge, giving guests the freedom to tailor-make their experience and find a balance between the exclusivity of the bush and the excitement of Africa’s Adventure Capital.

Enjoy a guided walking tour of the falls, where you will have the opportunity to discover the many facets of the magnificent Victoria Falls. Explore the rainforest while learning about the history of the Falls, its geological significance and its flora and fauna.

In the late afternoon, you may wish to indulge in a selection of cocktails and canapés on the rim of the Batoka Gorge, where the Zambezi Rapids rage 120 meters below.

The Lodge also works in partnership with the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, located in the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary adjacent to the lodge. The Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust is a non-profit entity and dedicated vehicle for promoting conservation awareness, education, and community empowerment.

A tour of the Trust is part of your experience. Guests visit the High-Care Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre and Laboratory facilities to learn about innovative conservation initiatives from a team of passionate research and wildlife experts.

This activity is included in your stay, but must be scheduled with management on arrival and is subject to availability.

Game drives are a quintessential safari experience, and with over 4 500 acres to explore, no two game drives are ever the same. Professional, passionate and knowledgeable safari guides lead these drives.
